Parades

Parades may look effortless from the sidelines, but delivering a seamless experience requires careful coordination, especially when it comes to audio. Traditional parade systems often rely on expensive infrastructure and complex setups to keep music and announcements in sync along the route. Forward Thinking Designs set out to simplify that process, creating a smarter, more affordable way to run parades without compromising quality or reliability.

The result is Entertainment in Motion Suite, a mobile show control solution built on Q-SYS. At its core is Parade Controller with Mini Map, which gives operators a clear, real-time view of where each float is in the park and allows quick control of announcements and audio zones. Vehicle Controller acts as the “brain” on each float, managing its audio cues and coordinating playback as it moves along the route. OnBoard Player handles GPS-based audio playback directly on the vehicle, ensuring the right sound plays at the right place and time. Together, these tools create a flexible, easy-to-run system that can be deployed quickly and scaled for parades, trams, live performances, and other moving shows, making professional-grade parade control accessible to venues of any size.

Stunt Shows

With complex moving elements, dynamic effects, and tightly timed audio and video, live productions run multiple times a day and no two performances are ever exactly the same. Because performers adapt in real time and unexpected changes happen, operators need flexible control systems that can be quickly and easily modified. Forward Thinking Designs was brought in to update control systems for two long-running and newly developed live experiences.

To meet these demands, Forward Thinking Designs implemented Ottomater, a live show controller built for the Q-SYS platform, giving operators the ability to trigger cues in any order, make quick adjustments, or step in manually without disrupting the flow of the show. For the legacy experience, programming was upgraded while keeping controls familiar for the crew and enhancing the experience with improved sound and immersive effects. For the new experience, systems were built from the ground up to ensure smooth timing, reliable automation, and seamless coordination. The result is two dynamic live experiences that operate confidently, adapt effortlessly, and engage audiences every day.

Immersive
Spaces

Immersive spaces turn experience centers into places where people can really connect with a brand and its story. By combining smart technology, show control, and high-quality audiovisual systems, we create environments that react to guests and guide them through engaging, sensory-rich experiences. We work on everything from museums and corporate experience centers to cruise ships and entertainment venues of all kinds, designing spaces that feel more like destinations than displays and leave visitors with something they’ll remember.

In museums, immersive technology helps bring art, history, and science to life, letting guests feel like they’ve stepped into another time or place. When digital elements are thoughtfully integrated with physical exhibits, they clarify stories, highlight important artifacts, and keep people moving comfortably through the space. The result is an experience that’s easier to explore, more engaging to learn from, and more likely to stick with visitors long after they’ve left.
